Vice President Jejomar Binay was the Keynote Speaker of the 33rd National Conference of Employers. He zeroed in on the social conscience of government.

The government’s mission, Binay emphasized, is to protect and uphold the universal rights of every Filipino. “As government, our duty is to ensure that each man can claim his destiny or build a humane future for himself, with the law and the government acting in the best interest of each and every citizen” Binay said. He added that if their conscience is to remain clear, then it must at all times be rooted in this truth.

To this day, His Excellency and his office are free from the taint of corruption and his commitment to his mandate is as clear as ever, Binay pointed out.

Binay made mention of the different positions he holds in government: Presidential Adviser on Overseas Filipino Workers’ (OFW) Concerns, Chairman Emeritus of the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT), Chairman of the Presidential Task Force Against Illegal Recruitment (PTFAIR); as well as Chair of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC). He said that these are areas of great importance as they focus on the protection and enhancement of the dignity of human life.

The Vice President noted that there is more that the government is working on to achieve to be able to create an environment of freedom, dignity and equitable access.
