The new Wage Order No. NCR-16 which grants a P22 cost-of-living allowance (COLA) for private sector minimum wage earners in the metropolis has sparked quite a number of discussions within the ranks of labor and employers alike. Justifiably so, as there are issues, economic and otherwise, that need to be addressed.

Against this backdrop, ECOP is conducting a half-day symposium on June 10, 1:00pm-5:00 pm which, at the same time, will give entrepreneurs, executives and human resource practitioners an extensive overview on the new wage order. It will tackle relevant issues on:
• The provisions of the wage order and the mechanics of its implementation.
• The implications of the new wage order on employment, cost of doing business, and its impact on SMEs.
• The controversies and intricacies of wage setting in the Philippines.

Among the resource speakers are ECOP President Edgardo Lacson, ECOP Director General Vicente Leogardo, Jr., National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) Executive Director Ciriaco Lagunzad, and NCR Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board Chairman Raymundo Agravante.
