CALL FOR NOMINATIONS!
 

We are pleased to announce the opening of nominations for the 2011 Kapatiran sa Industriya (KAPATID) Awards.

The KAPATID Awards is a biennial event of the Employers Confederation of the Philippines established in 1995, recognizing companies that exemplify good business practices in the field of industrial relations, productivity and quality, social accountability, and strategic visioning and partnering for business and job survival. Essentially, these practices are characterized by closer enterprise level cooperation between management and employees, whether in a unionized or non-unionized setting, resulting in labor and enterprise productivity, product / service quality, improved workplace conditions and enhanced relationship with society.

The awarding ceremonies will be one of the highlights of the 32nd National Conference of Employers to be held on April 2011.

PROCEDURES – KAPATID AWARDS 2011

1. Companies must submit a completely filled Application Form. Application Form is available through the KAPATID Awards Secretariat or companies may download it at the ECOP website. Application period is until February 11, 2011.

2. Companies, upon receipt of the completed Application Form, shall be notified via fax and/or email. The secretariat shall then send the Company Profile Form which the company must submit, with their Portfolios, within 2 weeks after receipt of notification.

3. The Portfolio must contain the following:
     i. A maximum of three (3) pages narrative of the company’s justification why they think         they excel in the Awards’ four major criteria:
                a. Industrial Peace and Harmony
                b. Productivity and Quality
                c. Social Accountability
                d. Strategic Visioning and Partnering for Business and Job Survival

    ii. The narrative must be supported by documents and evidences of claims such as:
                a. Copy of company policies
                b. Collective Bargaining Agreement (if any)
                c. Procedures
                d. Work instructions
                e. Memorandums / circulars
                f. Company forms
                g. Minutes of meetings and proceedings of activities
                h. Awards and recognition
                i. Others
        NOTE: documents should also be supported with photographs

4. Please take note that there should be one (1) Portfolio per criteria. Applicants should prepare six (6) copies for the use of the screeners. In effect, applicants should submit twenty-four 24 folders all in all.

5. The Company Profile and their Portfolio shall be the basis of the initial screening done by the Awards Secretariat. Companies who qualify to the round of screenings shall be notified via fax and/or email. They shall now be considered as nominee.

6. The nominee shall be scheduled to the next round of screening which is the interview with the KAPATID Awards Executive Committee. They shall undergo for (4) Executive Committee interviews for each category. The nominees must:
     i. Prepare a three (3) minute general presentation and a seven (7) minute criteria        presentation
     ii. A ten (10) minute Q&A shall follow immediately after the presentations.

7. Nominees must send a team composed of representatives from both management and employees/labor groups. A maximum of five (5) persons shall be allowed to represent each company during the Executive Committee Screening.

8. Nominees who pass the Executive Committee Screenings shall go through to the next round as finalists. Finalist shall then be schedule to an interview by the Board of Judges for the Final Screening.

9. A maximum of seven (7) minutes shall be given to each finalist for their presentation to the Board of Judges.

10. All finalists are required to register one (1) table for the 32nd National Conference of Employers. Awarding ceremonies will be one of the highlights of the National Conference of Employers on April 2011.
